The Garland Discovered Culinary Competition

October 31, 2019, Toronto – Calling all professional chefs! Want a chance to showcase your culinary skills? Take part in The Garland Discovered Culinary Competition and you could win over $5,000 in cash and prizes!

The Garland Discovered Culinary Competition is bigger and better than ever! It will give up-and-coming Canadian chefs the opportunity to showcase their culinary talents as they work against the clock in front of a live audience at Nella Cucina with the final rounds taking place at the RC Show 2020.

This black box competition will feature four chefs going head-to-head, to create an appetizer, entrée and dessert. Starting in November the winner of each Monday night competition will advance to compete in the semi-finals and finals (sixteen chefs in total) live on stage at the RC Show March 1st to 3rd, 2020. As a bonus, the audience will have the chance to vote for two “fan favourites.” In addition to bragging rights, the winner will be able to gain knowledge and experience from a mystery stage that will be announced at the finals.

The Discovered Culinary Competition is open to all professional Canadian chefs employed in the hospitality and foodservice industry. You must be 19 years of age and work in a commercial kitchen to enter and be considered to compete.

To secure your spot please apply now! The sooner you apply the better the chance you have to compete. The first round begins on November 11th, 2019 and the list of finalists will be completed by February 1st.

The Garland Discovered Culinary Competition is presented by Nella Cutlery and Restaurants Canada with support from Victorinox Swiss Army, Kitchen Aid, Powder for Texture, Hilite Produce, High Liner Culinary, Browne Foodservice, Certified Angus Beef, Tableware Solutions, Villeroy & Boch and Microplane.

The preliminary competitions will be held at Nella Cucina, 876 Bathurst Street, Toronto, ON M5R 3G3, (416) 922-9055 and by Brugman Food Equipment in Maple Ridge, British Columbia.
