Beyond the Rail returns and it's a team effort once again! This year’s challenge showcases our bar industry’s true ‘Heart and Hustle’ by pairing up top mixologists to showcase their creativity, skills and showmanship for a chance to win $5,000 in cash prizes. Guests attending can sample and vote for a people’s choice award presented by Beam Suntory.

2023 Competition Details

Monday, April 10 - 3-5PM - Bar & Beverage Stage

Come cheer on our finalists as they craft an experiential flight of three cocktails telling a unique story, with one of them served on tap! Our mixologists will battle in teams against the clock using house made and black box ingredients.

  • All applicants must meet the application criteria.
  • Each participating bar will apply to compete as a team of two.
  • A total of six teams will be selected, through the initial application process including both skill and problem solving questions, who will move on to compete at the finals hosted at the RC Show.

Competition Prizes

  • 1st Place - $3,000
  • 2nd Place - $1,500
  • 3rd Place - $500

Applicant Criteria

  • Be living and working in Canada
  • Must currently be working in a bar, restaurant or catering facility
  • Be available to travel to Toronto to compete in the live competition on Monday, April 10, 2023
