Top Chefs, Bartenders & Baristas Take Centre Stage

RC Show hosts various competitions across the show floor. Attendees can watch culinary titans square off in high-stake showdowns to compete for cash prizes, recognition and to compete further.

Talented chefs have been going head-to-head in qualifier competitions to earn a chance to compete at the ultimate Canadian culinary competition and win over $5,000 in cash and prizes. In front of a live audience at the RC Show the semi-finalists will showcase their skills to create innovative, mouth-watering dishes to impress the judges and win the title.

BEYOND THE RAIL

Stage: Bar & Beverage Stage
Monday, March 1 @ 1:45PM-4:00PM

RC Show brings back the iconic Beyond the Rail Competition, a cocktail competition that showcases Canada’s best bartenders’ diverse approaches to drink creation and presentation. The challenge calls for the creation of two signature cocktails. The first featuring homemade materials designed to showcase what the future of diversification in Canadian drinks means to them. The second will be a black box challenge where competitors will need to source at least one ‘found’ ingredient from the show floor to complete their creation. With $5,000 in cash prizes available to be won and the winner going home with $3,000, it's going to be exciting!

Sunday, March 1 @ 11:00AM-1:00PM

Led by Sommelier Jeff Osborne, six of Canada’s top Sommeliers will compete in a service-based challenge for honour and a $3,000 prize. Judged by Master Sommelier Jennifer Heuther, Master Sommelier Bruce Wallner & Alo Food Group Wine Director Christopher Sealy, competitors will be judged not just on their knowledge, but on their hands on poise as well.
